《더 돌핀스》는 샌프란시스코 돌핀 클럽의 오랜 역사와 그 안에서 살아가는 사람들을 담은 다큐멘터리다. 1877년에 설립된 이 클럽의 회원들은 수십 년째, 어떤 이는 평생을 같은 바다로 향한다.
영화는 그 반복 속에 무엇이 쌓이는지를 조용히 들여다본다. 누군가에게 바다는 도전이고, 누군가에게는 명상이며, 또 다른 누군가에게는 하루를 다시 살아가게 만드는 위로가 된다.

Founded in 1877, the club has attracted generations of members who return to the same waters year after year—some for decades, others for a lifetime. Director’s Bio
개비 스콧은 미국 샌프란시스코를 기반으로 활동하는 영화감독이자 편집자이다. 보스턴 지역 출신인 그녀는 시카고 예술대학교에서 시각문화 및 비평연구 석사 학위를 취득했다.
학업을 마친 후 샌프란시스코로 이주한 스콧은 세계적인 광고 에이전시 굿비 실버스타인 앤 파트너스(Goodby Silverstein & Partners)의 후반작업(Post-production) 부서에서 경력을 시작했다.
이후 프로덕션 하우스 아보카도스 앤 코코넛츠(Avocados and Coconuts)의 전속 편집자로 활동하며 영상 제작 경험을 쌓았다.
현재는 프리랜서 영화감독이자 편집자로 활동하며, 자신만의 시각적 감각과 비평적 관점을 바탕으로 다양한 영화 및 영상 프로젝트를 선보이고 있다.
Gaby Scott is a San Francisco based filmmaker and editor. Originally from the Boston area, she obtained her Master’s degree in Visual and Critical Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Scott then moved to San Francisco and joined the post department at Goodby Silverstein & Partners, later becoming a full time staff editor at Avocados and Coconuts production house, and she is currently a freelance film director and editor.
