애쉬 필립스는 호주 퍼스를 기반으로 활동하며 AI 생성 이미지와 단편 영화를 제작하는 아티스트이자 영화감독이다.
그의 진행 중인 프로젝트인 ‘포에버코스트(forevercoast)’는 1990년대 필름 사진, 초현실적인 공상과학(sci-fi), 그리고 베이퍼웨이브(vaporwave) 특유의 향수가 교차하는 지점에 맞닿아 있다.
겉보기에는 고요하지만, 표면 바로 아래에서 묘한 불안감이 낮게 울려 퍼지는 조금은 뒤틀린 세계를 보여준다.
